Increasing value

Image
I found this so inspiring, so I thought I should forward it: Michael Jordan was born in 1963, in the slums of Brooklyn, New York. He had four  siblings and his father's earnings were not sufficient to provide for the whole family. He grew up in a poor neighbourhood. Exposed to mindless violence and heavy discrimination in the slums, he saw for himself only a hopeless future. His father saw in Michael, a lost soul and decided to do something. He gave Michael, who was 13 years old, a piece of used clothing and asked: "What do you think the value of this outfit would be?" Jordan replied,"Maybe one dollar." His father asked, "Can you sell it for two dollars? If you can sell it, it would mean that you are a big help to your family." Jordan nodded his head, "I'll try, but no guarantee that I'll be successful." Jordan carefully washed the cloth clean. Because they didn't have an iron, to smoothen the cloth, he l...

Create pictures for future

Rhonda Byrne says:  "Neville recommends at the end of every day, before you go to sleep, to think through the events of the day. If any events or moments did not go the way you wanted, replay them in your mind in a way that thrills you. As you recreate those events in your mind exactly as you want, you are cleaning up your frequency from the day and you are emitting a new signal and frequency for tomorrow. You have intentionally created new picture for your future. It is never too late to change the pictures."

Happiness

Rhonda Byrne says:  "If you have been living your life saying to yourself, “I will be happy when I have a better house,” “I will be happy when I get a job or promotion,” “I will be happy when the kids are through college,” “I will be happy when we have more money,” “I will be happy when I can travel,” or “I will be happy when my business is a success,” you will never have those things because your thoughts are defying the way love works. They’re defying the law of attraction. You have to be happy first, and give happiness, to receive happy things! It can’t happen any other way, because whatever you want to receive in life, you must give first! You are in command of your feelings, you are in command of your love, and the force of love will give back to you whatever you give out."

Life view

Paulo Coelho says: "I can choose either to be a victim of the world or an adventurer in search of treasure. It's all a question of how I view my life" "People are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of."

Brakes

Someone asked, "Why do we have brakes in a car" Many answers were provided like "to stop", "to reduce speed" , "avoid collision" etc., but the best I found was, "To allow you to drive faster" Give it a thought. It's true but seldom appreciated. It's because we have brakes that we can dare to accelerate, dare to go fast and reach destinations we desire. At various points in life, we found our parents, teachers, mentors, friends and spouse etc. questioning your progress, direction or decision. But remember it's because of them that you are where you are today. Learn to appreciate the 'brakes' in your life.

Still humanity continues

Something that touched my heart:--- On my way I found a piece of paper tied to an electric pole, with a small note on it. I was curious to know what was written, hence went closer and read it. "I lost Rs. 50 somewhere on the road. If any of you find it, please give it to me at this address. My vision isn't great so please help" I was urged to follow that address and found an old hut in shatters with an older woman sitting outside. She was frail and asked who is that, following my footsteps. I said I came by this way, found Rs. 50 on the road so wanted to handover to you. She began crying on hearing this. She said "my dear I have had atleast 30-40 people come over and give me Rs. 50 saying that they have found it on the road. I dint write that note, I cannot even see properly nor do I know to read and write" I said it's OK amma you keep it. *She asked me to tear that note off on my way back.* I walked back with a million thoughts as to who could...

Spiritual story

"An Afternoon In the Park" -------------------- "There once was a little boy who wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with Twinkies and a six-pack of root beer and he started his journey. When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old woman. She was sitting in the park just staring at some pigeons. The boy sat down next to her and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the old lady looked hungry, so he offered her a Twinkie. She gratefully accepted it and smiled at him. Her smile was so pretty that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered her a root beer. Once again she smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word. As it grew dark, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave, but before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the old woman an...
